Continuing the Discussion Through Blog Commenting 0

When a blogger writes an article and publishes it for the public’s eye, he or she can expect to get some reaction through commenting.  Of course, this is presuming that readers have already found the blog.  Making a blog visible to online searchers covers an entirely separate and extensive subject.  Common sense dictates that bloggers should exert efforts to make their sites searchable.  Unless this happens, receiving comments is a remote possibility.

When a blog post is commented on, a discussion has been initiated.  It is to the advantage of bloggers to continue the discussion and encourage further interaction from the readers.  The most logical thing to do is to reply to a comment since this shows interest on the readers’ view.

A genuinely obtained comment or a comment which has been provided not because  of any reciprocal agreement to do so shows more value.  It means that the article has been read on the reader’s own accord without any promise to do anything in return.  It shows that the article has affected the reader to the degree that he or she has taken the effort to make his or views known to the writer.  It does not really matter if the comment is something positive or negative.  As long as it is a valid comment, it should be taken for whatever its worth.

When a blogger is seriously into blogging and not merely for the money, comments are taken seriously as well in the sense that they are recognized and answered.  Positive comments should provide encouragement to continue whatever is deemed positive with the blog.  However, there should be a constant lookout for ways towards improvement.  No blog can remain forever optimized without occasional tweaks.  As in all things, change is the only constant thing in blogging.  The comments received can provide ideas on the way to go towards improvement.
