Creative Weblogging admits mistake with previous homepage design 0

Torsten Jacobi, the CEO of Creative Weblogging, has a new post up discussing the recent controversy over the similarity between their network design and that of Weblogs, Inc.:

So WeblogsInc had a cool idea to simplify the approach to communicate with the three different groups every blog network is communicating with. We used the homepage as an idea for our designers but were not expecting things would be so close. The result was much too close and to put it online was a mistake. That is no doubt my personal mistake as well, as I could have easily looked a little closer to check how it must look like for outsiders. But sometimes things work out differently.

Believe it or not. We certainly do not and did not want to look like WIN in any way. We certainly want to make sure we provide a viable alternative to them and make sure wherever we can that we are not mistaken as WeblogsInc. Clearly – resembling the homepage design did not help this cause!

The earlier controversy was covered with great wit by our pals at Blogebrity
